Malaysia is Indonesia’s neighbor, the majority of the population is Malays, following the sizable Chinese and Indian communities as well.
With this, their culture supposedly comes from the mix of Malays, Chinese and Indian cultures. Isn’t it?
But in fact, they like to claiming their neighborhood culture as theirs. Such as; claiming Indonesia’s traditional song titled “Rasa Sayange” (originally Ambonese – Indonesia) in 2007. But officially proofed that its belongs to Indonesia.
The latest issue is, Ambalat the Indonesian name given to a sea block in the Celebes Sea which is subject to a territorial dispute between Indonesia and Malaysia.
Again, Malaysia likes to claim that it belongs to them.
What a disbelief manner. We’ll wait how it will be ended?
Perhaps, just perhaps…this manner comes from their first succeed to get their own country name as publish in Wikipedia as follows:
A map published in 1914 in Chicago has the word Malaysia printed on it referring to certain territories within the Malay Archipelago. The Philippines once contemplated naming their state “Malaysia”, but Malaysia adopted the name first in 1963 before the Philippines could act further on the matter.
